SHIPPING CARS TO AUSTRALIAN

PORTS

1/. You need to de-register the vehicle at the Thai transport department for permanent export from Thailand.They will issue you with the necessary paperwork for Australian customs that the vehicle is clear & not stolen.

2/. Please advise destination port in Australia (BNE/SYD/MEL/ADL/FRE) then we can send you a shipping service quotation.

3/. Regarding on importing vehicles to Australia, please check the below requirement.

Importing (vehicle/Car/Motorbike/Trailer/E-bike/boat) into Australia requires a Vehicle Import Approval/Advisory Notice prior to shipping  

If you the client gets the permit, you can then dispatch the vehicle. If the permit is not obtained, it will never clear Australian customs and will have to be returned to the Country of origin or destroyed at yiour expense. The client would need to apply and process directly with the Australian Department of Infrastructure for this (we can’t assist in applying for the import permit )

4/. Upon arrival in Australia the vehicle will be inspected by quarantine and customs who will charge duty and GST (GST paid only for motorbikes)  

5/. A completed motor vehicle/motorbike instruction sheet and asbestos declaration needs also to be completed (ask us for more info)   

6/. Other details/documents required for clearance processing are as per below.   

•           proof of ownership/certificate of registration   

•           car/motorbike valuation (if customs may require) to confirm the current market value in Australia. We can have this process on your behalf and the cost will be AUD 440.00 as at November 2023. We just need a copy of the import permit, current photos of the car, certificate of registration, and origin loading manifest   

•           Freight amount (freight cost only of the car - excluding any origin charges)  

Used vehicles are restricted goods and generally not allowed for importation into Thailand, except for temporary imports as mentioned above or imports under the conditions specified by the Ministry of Commerce.Importer will need to obtain an "Import Permit" from the Ministry of Commerce. Each scheme has its own specific requirements. It is important that the importer should find out whether he can meet those requirements before committing.

The Thai Govt stopped the importation of all used vehicles as at 10th Dec 2019. Foreigners and Thais cannot bring into Thailand vehicles from this date due to curbing the pollution problems & traffic conjestion as well as too much smuggling.
